1. Overview

Prospekt is a mobile app for tracking baseball and softball performance — recording pitches, at-bats, game statistics, and optional game video for players, parents, and coaches. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

This app is intended for use by athletes and their parents/guardians and coaches. Because many users are minors, please read Section 6 (Children’s Privacy) carefully.

2. Who Can Use Prospekt

When creating an account, we ask for date of birth before collecting any other personal information, and we route users as follows:

• Under 13: Cannot create or self-manage their own account. A parent or guardian must create the account and add the child as a managed player.
• Ages 13–17: Shown a privacy disclosure and asked to confirm that a parent or guardian is aware of and consents to their use of the app.
• 18 and over: May create and manage their own account.

3. Information We Collect

Account information

• Email address and password (used for authentication).

Profile information

• First and last name, date of birth, primary sport.
• Optional: phone number, city/state, batting/throwing handedness, profile photo (avatar).

Performance and game data

• Pitches, at-bats, outcomes, locations, velocities, and related statistics you record.
• Notes you add to games or sessions.
• Team and roster associations.

Media you choose to record

• Game video clips captured during tracking.
• Audio, including video audio and optional voice notes (which may be transcribed using on-device/Apple speech recognition).

Information about managed players

• A parent/guardian or coach may create profiles for other players (e.g., their child or team members), including the profile and performance data described above for those players.

Technical information

• App preferences stored on your device (e.g., pitch-tracking settings).
• We do not use third-party advertising identifiers and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

• Create and maintain your account and profile;
• Record, store, calculate, and display your statistics and game data;
• Store and play back game video you record;
• Generate written development reports (see Section 5);
• Match players to teams and manage following/sharing relationships you set up;
• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the app;
• Communicate with you about your account (e.g., password resets).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. AI-Generated Development Reports

Prospekt offers an optional feature that generates a written player development report from your recorded statistics. To do this, aggregated performance data (and player first/last name and batting/throwing handedness) is sent to our AI processor, Anthropic (Claude), which returns the report text. This data is sent only when you request a report.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

We take the privacy of young athletes seriously.

• Children under 13 cannot create their own accounts. Their profiles can only be created and managed by a parent/guardian (or, where applicable, a coach acting under appropriate authorization).
• A parent/guardian managing a child’s account can access, review, correct, and delete the child’s information at any time within the app, and can delete the child’s profile entirely.
• We do not condition a child’s participation on disclosing more information than is reasonably necessary.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental involvement. If you believe a child has provided us information without proper consent, contact us at support@prospektsports.com and we will delete it.

7. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the app:

• Service providers / infrastructure. We use Supabase for cloud database hosting, authentication, and file storage. Your data is stored on their infrastructure on our behalf.
• AI report processor. Anthropic, as described in Section 5.
• Other users you choose to share with. If you set up following/sharing relationships or join a team, certain profile and stat information is visible to those people according to your settings. Stats are private by default.
• Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

• Your data is retained while your account is active.
• You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account). This permanently removes your profile, tracked games, statistics, and recorded video, and deletes your authentication record. A parent/guardian can likewise delete a managed player’s profile.
• Backups or logs, if any, are deleted on a rolling basis.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including authentication, access controls (row-level security on our database), and encrypted transport. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these directly in the app (edit profile, delete account) or by contacting us at support@prospektsports.com.

11. International Users and Data Transfers

Prospekt is operated in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored there. If you access the app from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Effective date” and, where required, provide additional notice.
